What’s Not To Love About Magical Relationships?

by

Love Is Magical

What’s not to love about love, especially the kind that sweeps you off your feet? That kind of love is the magical kind—the remarkable, exceptional, outstanding, incredible, unbelievable, astonishing, astounding, staggering, marvelous, magnificent, wonderful, sensational, breathtaking kind.

Love Emits Light

Love has stunning properties because it is both strange and beautiful. Like magical crystals, love emits light. Have you ever seen love’s light in a person’s eyes? Have  you ever watched a crystal glow? Crystals glow because of a phenomenon called triboluminescence. There’s a simple way for you to see a crystal glow.

Get some sugar cubes, go to a pitch-black room, and use the bottom of a glass to crush the pieces. You will see a fleeting, faint blue glow emanate from the sugar. It’s magical! The strange and beautiful results have happened because of interaction and the particular way in which matter affects one another. And human love glows as a result of being deeply connected with another. Love, like crystals, emits light. Magical relationships bring out the best in each other. They, too, are magical.

As a child, I was given a little kit containing some “magical” powders. When I poured the powders into a mixture that was provided in the kit, they grew and burst into phenomenal crystals—touchable crystals in stunning colors! Like love, they were marvelous, magnificent, and breathtaking! That experience didn’t cause me to appreciate physics in high school, but it did make me appreciate the discovery of beauty in the unexpected.

We all want to be loved. There’s more than one kind of love.

Try reaching out to help a person in need. Try extending your love to encompass someone who’s lonely. Forgive a weakness or a shortcoming. Watch the glow begin. “Let your (love) light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16
